Brooklyn PTA Fun Run for Schools 2025

🏃‍♀️ Event Overview

• Organizer: Council Member Shahana Hanif and the PTAs of Brooklyn’s public schools
• Event: 17th annual PTA 5K+ run/walk/stroll/toddle/scoot
• Date: Saturday, October 25, 2025
• Location: The LeFrak Center at Lakeside, Brooklyn, NY

👨‍👩‍👦 Community Impact

• Decade-long Tradition: The PTA Fun Run has been a community day in Prospect Park for local public school communities.
• Community Participation: Parents, students, and educators have collectively raised funds for our neediest schools.
• Fundraising Purpose: Net proceeds from your registration fees will go to support PTAs at high needs schools.
• Encouragement: We invite everyone to build community and support our public schools.

🏞️ Race Details

• Distance: 3.3 mile loop
• Start/Finish: Main park drive just outside the LeFrak Center
• Time: Race starts at 10 AM, Bib distribution and pre-race activities begin at 9 AM.
• All Welcome: Runners, walkers, strollers, tricycles, scooters, wheelchairs - everyone is invited!

• Team Registration: Register now with your school team and encourage friends to join!
• Contact: For financial barriers or questions, please email District 39 at District39@council.nyc.gov.
• Sign Up Order: Parents should register themselves/adults first, then children.
