Join us for SAPD’s first-ever 5K Fun Run and Health Fair, benefiting local students and schools! This event is more than just a race—it’s a community-wide back-to-school drive supporting families and the dedicated teachers who often spend out-of-pocket to help their students succeed. There is no registration fee. Instead, each participant is asked to donate a school supply kit valued between $20–$35.

The first 500 registered runners will receive a free event t-shirt and a bib with a built-in timing chip. All runners, including team members, must sign a waiver to participate. After the 500-participant cap is met, additional day-of runners may still join by bringing a school supply donation but will not receive a t-shirt, bib, or timing chip due to limited supplies.
From June 2 through July 11, donation bins will be available at all SAPD substations and select partner locations. These publicly accessible bins are open to individuals and groups wishing to contribute any type or quantity of school supplies. These donations do not count toward the registration requirement for race packet pick-up.
For individuals or groups who prefer to make a monetary donation—either by check or electronically—instructions will be provided through our partner organization, Blue Cares. Donation details will be available on the Blue Cares website and shared during open registration for the 5K.

Family, friends, and supporters are invited to cheer on the runners and enjoy our free Health Fair during the 5K. The fair will feature local gyms, wellness groups, youth safety programs, and community resource agencies offering free info and giveaways. All guests are kindly encouraged to donate school supplies to support the cause.
Parking is limited, so carpooling is highly encouraged. Be sure to stay prepared for the July heat—bring water, sunscreen, and a hat to stay cool. We also encourage everyone to train ahead of time to ensure a safe and enjoyable run. No alcohol is allowed on school property. EMS and SAPD will be on site, and first aid services will be available.
