Event Overview

• Description: Join the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) for the 2nd Annual SAPD 5K Fun Run & Health Fair, benefiting Edgewood ISD students, families, and teachers.
• Mission: This event is a community-wide Back-to-School Supply Drive designed to help students begin the school year prepared while supporting teachers who often purchase classroom supplies out of pocket.
• Registration: There is NO standard registration fee to participate. Instead, participants are encouraged to support the mission by donating school supplies during packet pickup or on race day.
• Welcome: The SAPD 5K welcomes runners, walkers, families, stroller participants, community groups, public safety teams, schools, running clubs, and first-time participants.

Health Fair

• Details: The event includes a free community Health Fair featuring wellness resources, youth programs, public safety education, giveaways, and family-friendly activities.

Registration & Timing Information

• Timing: The SAPD 5K will be officially timed by IAAPWEB.
• First 500 Participants: The first 500 registered participants will receive a free event T-shirt, official race bib, chip timing, and eligibility for timed race results and finisher recognition.
• Waiver: All participants must complete the online waiver before participating.

Post-Registration for Additional Participants

• Ongoing Registration: Registration will remain open for continued community participation once the first 500 sponsored participant spots are filled.
• Participation Options: Additional participants may still run, walk, support the drive, or engage in the Health Fair.
• Donations: Participants registering after the first 500 are encouraged to bring any level of school supply donation on the date of the event.
• Community Encouragement: We especially encourage running clubs, fitness groups, schools, community organizations, public safety teams, military groups, and corporate wellness teams to represent their organizations, team colors, and community spirit.

Event Day Schedule

• 5:30 AM – 7:00 AM: Final Packet Pickup & Donation Drop-Off
• 7:00 AM: SAPD 5K Race Starts
• 7:00 AM: Health Fair Opens
• 10:30 AM: Vendor Breakdown & Event Transition

Packet Pickup & School Supply Donations

• Registered Participants: Encouraged to bring school supply donations during packet pickup.
• Early Packet Pickup: At SAPD Central Substation on July 23-25, 2026.
• Race Day Pickup: At SeaWorld San Antonio – Ports of Call from 5:30 AM – 7:00 AM.

Support the Cause

• Community Contributions: Community members may support the Back-to-School Drive through various donation methods.
• Monetary Donations: Community members may support through Blue Cares – SAPOA Outreach.

Community Health Fair Features

• Invite: Family members, supporters, and community guests are invited to attend the free Health Fair.
• Activities: The Health Fair may include health and wellness organizations, fitness and nutrition resources, youth safety programs, educational services, and community outreach organizations.

Service Animal & Pet Guidance

• ADA Compliance: SeaWorld San Antonio welcomes trained service animals under venue policy.
• Requirements: Service animals must remain leashed and under control at all times.
• Pet Policy: Emotional support animals, cats, and non-approved animals are not permitted.

Important Event Information

• Parking: May be limited: carpooling is encouraged.
• Safety: July temperatures may be high—bring water, sunscreen, and appropriate clothing.
• Health Services: EMS and first aid services will be onsite.
