15th Annual Superhero 5K and Fun Run

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

The 15th Annual Superhero 5K & Fun Run will be held on February 7, 2026, at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota. The start/finish line will be ON THE ISLAND near the rowing finish tower!

This is a Foster Care Awareness Event. In-person and virtual racing options are available.

🕒 Event Schedule

• Kids' Fun Run: Starts at 8:30am.
• 5K Start: Between 9-9:10am (CHIP START).
• Timing: Official chip time and place.
• Master and Overall: Timed at gun time 9am, USATF Rules.

🎉 Event Highlights

• Community Impact: Brings together child welfare agencies and the community to highlight the approximately 700 youth in local foster care.
• Family-friendly: Includes music, a kiddie zone, food, and giveaways.
• Superhero Theme: Dress as your favorite hero for an awesome race and cause.
• Participation Medals: Awarded to the first 700 5K runners to cross the finish line!

🏆 Awards & Prizes

• Trophies: Best Superhero Family, Best Male & Female Superhero Costumes, Team Spirit, Best Pet Superhero Costume.
• Medals: For those who wear a costume.
• Overall Awards: Male and Female for various age categories.
• Age Groups: Awards for 1st-3rd Male and Female in various age categories from 9 and under to 90+.

• Early Bird: $20/30 June 1 - Nov 30, 2025
• Late Registration: $25/35 Dec 1 - Dec 31, 2025
• Last Minute: $30/40 Jan 1 - Jan 31, 2026
• Race Day: $35/$45 Feb 1 - Feb 6, 2026 (online registration ends on 2/6 at 11:59pm).

• Late Registration: $20 Dec 1, 2025 - Jan 31, 2026

📦 Packet Pick-Up

Wednesday, February 4th and Thursday, February 5th from 4-6:30pm at New Balance UTC 315 N Cattlemen Rd Suite 1, Sarasota, FL 34243.

🏁 On Race Day

Event Schedule:

• 6:45-7:45am: Race Day Registration (6:45-8:30am Day of Packet Pickup).
• 8:20am: National Anthem.
• 8:30am: Fun Run start.
• 9:00-9:10am: CHIP START 5K (Overall/Masters are gun time).

Awards Ceremony at 10:00am.

🚗 Parking Information

Parking will be on the island near the rowing finish tower. Bridge a Life and race signage will be posted for clarity. A course map will be posted to our Facebook page.
