Summer Slay 5K & 1 Mile Fun Walk - Run for Rilyn

🏃‍♀️ Event Overview

• Type: Timed 5K with shirts provided if you sign up by the shirt deadline date.
• Location: Helicon Brewing - 102 Union Ave, Oakdale, PA 15071.
• Course: 1.55 miles on the Panhandle trail headed towards McDonald and then back.
• Family Option: A 1 mile family fun walk, which will not be a timed event, is also available.

📅 Event Details

• Packet Pickup: Day of packet pickup will be available.
• Communication: More information will be sent to all registered runners a day or two before the race.
• Shirts: Our shirts are Next Level Tri-Blend unisex t-shirts that say Summer Slay 5K.
• Add On: A t-shirt add on option is available with the 1 mile fun walk.

💖 Support for Rilyn

• Purpose: All donations support 6-year-old Rilyn in her brave fight against High-Risk Neuroblastoma.
• Background: Rilyn has been battling cancer since she was just 18 months old.
• Struggles: The family has faced unimaginable challenges and devastating news regarding Rilyn's health.
• Treatment: Rilyn has endured extensive treatments, but unfortunately, all options have been exhausted.

🏥 Upcoming Surgery

• Date: On June 9th, Rilyn will undergo an orbital exenteration surgery at Children’s Hospital (Pittsburgh).
• Goal: The surgery aims to remove the tumor located in her orbital area.
• Impacts: This procedure will include the loss of her eye and optic nerve, which is a significant emotional and physical toll.
• Community Support: Please consider supporting Rilyn and her family during this difficult transition.
