Join us for the 35th annual Castaic Lake Triathlon at scenic Castaic Lake, just 20 miles north of Los Angeles.

Event Options

• 6 Olympic Distance Events: Triathlon, RunBikeRun, SwimBike, SwimRun, 1640 Yard Swim & 10K Run
• 6 Sprint Distance Events: Triathlon, RunBikeRun, SwimBike, SwimRun, 400 yard Swim & 5K Run
• 6 Youth Sprint Distance Events: Triathlon, RunBikeRun, SwimBike, SwimRun, 400 yard Swim & 5K Run
• Triathlon Format: Swim + Bike + Run: note that bike distances may vary

Castaic Lake

• Location: Castaic Lake Recreation Area, 11,200-acre facility
• Activities: Boating, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, and more
• Camping: "Tri-cation" Friday night camping available
• Water Temperature: Typically in the high 60s

The Course

• Swim Course: Modified V shape in Paradise Cove with lifeguards on paddleboards
• Bike Course: Out on back roads with limited car interaction
• Caution: U-turns on back roads: athletes should slow down
• Run Course: Primarily rolling trails overlooking Castaic Lake

Air Temperature (Avg)

• Morning Temperatures: Cooler with fog that may burn off
• Averaged Temperature: Mid 80s expected
• Event Day: Possible around 60 degrees

Water Temperature (Avg)

• Typical Range: Mid to high 60s in June
