🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

Want to challenge yourself? Want to support a worthwhile cause? Spend from 2 to 24hrs with us running and walking mind-numbing lap after lap after lap ... all while raising money to help out the pups and kitties at Tazewell Animal Protective Society (TAPS).

🎉 What to Expect

• Community Vibe: Basically a bunch of people are going to get together to run a little, hang out a little, walk a little, snack a lot, laugh a lot, hopefully not much crying, and just have a good time supporting a good cause!
• Family Friendly: Family, friends, and spectators are always welcome. Make it a party!
• Games Available: We will have a few sets of "bags boards" set up as well as some other games available to keep you entertained during the event.
• Noise Respect: With this event taking place so close to a residential neighborhood, we do have to abide by noise ordinances and respect the quiet hours of 11pm to 7am.

⚠️ Registration Details

• Participant Cap: Due to the constraints of the trail, this event is capped at 200 participants so register early!
• Team or Solo: Register solo or gather some friends and form a team.
• Fundraising Link: When you register, you will receive your own custom fundraiser link that you can send to everyone you know.
• Pledges Available: Your supporters can choose to donate a set amount or pledge a $ amount per mile you complete on top of their other donation.

⏳ Race Schedule

• 24hr Race: Begins at 7:00 a.m. Saturday.
• 12hr Races: Begin at 7:00 a.m. or 7:00 p.m. Saturday.
• 6hr Race: Begins at 7:00 p.m. Saturday.
• 2hr Race: Begins at 8:00 a.m. Sunday.

🏆 Awards & Competitions

Your only competitor is the voice in your head that tells you to quit! Awards given for distance milestones ... 10k, half-marathon, marathon, 50k, 50 mile, and 100 mile awards along with a special award for the person who completes the most laps!

👥 Relay Teams

• Team Size: Relay teams need a minimum of 3 members.
• Team Participation: Only one team member is allowed on course at a time.
• Early Bird Perk: When your 4th member signs up, the first three get a $5 refund of their registration fee!
• Lap Requirement: Each member must complete at least one lap for the team to be counted in the standings.

🍕 Aid Station

There will be one aid station at the start/finish area that you will pass every lap. It will have all the normal junk food necessary to keep your blood sugar up and water/electrolyte drink to keep you hydrated! At certain times we will even have some real food like pizza.

♻️ Zero Waste Initiative

• Cupless Event: In an effort to reduce waste and litter, our events are cupless.
• Fluid Containment: Please bring your preferred means of containing fluids, including hot drinks, for during your run and at the aid station.
• Sale of Cups: We will have some silicone collapsible cups ($5 cash) for sale at check-in.
• No Pre-filled Cups: Please note that there are no pre-filled cups of hydration at the aid stations.

💡 Trail Safety

• Lighting Requirement: The trail is not lit so all participants will be required to have a light source during low light hours!
• Porta Potties: You will pass a couple porta potties every lap.
• Trail Etiquette: During the event, the trail will be more crowded than normal.
• Course Integrity: Anyone caught cutting the course will be disqualified along with their team if on one.
