🏃‍♂️Event Overview

Challenge: Want to challenge yourself? Want to support a worthwhile cause? Spend from 2 to 24hrs with us running and walking mind-numbing lap after lap after lap ... all while raising money to help out the pups and kitties at Tazewell Animal Protective Society (TAPS).
Gathering: Basically a bunch of people are going to get together to run a little, hang out a little, walk a little, snack a lot, laugh a lot, hopefully not much crying, and just have a good time supporting a good cause! Run as much or as little as you want in your chosen time limit.
Laid-Back Atmosphere: This will be a laid-back, grassroots event. Family, friends, and spectators are always welcome. Make it a party. There is plenty of room to set up tents, chairs, etc. Feel free to bring outside games as well.
Noise Considerations: With this event taking place so close to a residential neighborhood we do have to abide by noise ordinances and respect the quiet hours of 11pm to 7am.

Participant Limit: Due to the constraints of the trail, this event is capped at 200 participants so register early!
Fundraising: Register solo or gather some friends and form a team. When you register, you will receive your own custom fundraiser link that you can send to everyone you know. They will have the option to ignore it or donate a set amount to your fundraiser.
Fundraiser Incentives: They can even pledge a $ amount per mile you complete on top of their other donation. So the longer you make it without going mad, the more you could raise.

Awards Ceremony: Awards will be handed out at 10 a.m. Sunday. Must be present to receive awards!
Relay Team Setup: Relay teams need a minimum of 3 members. Only one team member is allowed on course at a time.
Team Rules: Each member can complete as many or as few laps as desired but must complete at least one lap for the team to be counted in the standings.
Early Bird Incentive: When your 4th member signs up, the first three get a $5 refund of their registration fee!

Food and Drink: There will be one aid station at the start/finish area that you will pass every lap. It will have all the normal junk food necessary to keep your blood sugar up and water/electrolyte drink to keep you hydrated!
Waste Reduction: In an effort to reduce waste and litter, our events are cupless. We request that you bring your preferred means of containing fluids.
Hydration Note: Please note that there are no pre-filled cups of hydration at the aid stations.

Lighting Requirement: The trail is not lit so all participants will be required to have a light source, headlamps, flashlights, etc. during low light hours!
Restroom Facilities: You will pass a couple of porta potties every lap.
Trail Etiquette: During the event, the trail will be more crowded than normal. We ask walkers to be aware of people passing and runners to practice proper trail etiquette.
Disqualification Policy: Anyone caught cutting the course will be disqualified along with their team if on one.
