Headless Horseman BYU

Race Overview

Come on out and join us for the newest Michigan Trail Experience race. Experience a beautiful 4.167 mile loop through Sleepy Hollow State Park. The park contains over 2,600 acres including a river winding its way through the woods. The course will take you through prairie grass fields, hardwood forest, and stands of Pine trees. This race is a 12hr Back Yard Ultra, last man standing rules, with an option to do the single lap. Elevation gain 151ft.

Single Lap Option

• Start Time: 9 AM Single Loop They will start with the 12 Hr runners
• Entry Fee: $35 until Oct 24th $40 from Oct 25th through Nov 1st.
• Entry Fee 18 and under: $27 until Oct 24th $35 from Oct 25th to Nov 1st
• Packet Pickup: Race day morning starting at 7:00 am

Race Details

• Race Swag: All entries will receive a T-shirt and finisher patch.
• Results: Your accurate chip time and current overall and age group place will be texted to your phone and live on this site.
• Awards: Overall finishers male and female will receive a $25 Playmakers gift card. First places in each age group will receive a $10 Playmakers gift card.
• Age Groups: 15 and under, 16-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, 65-74, 75 and over.

12 Hr Back Yard Ultra

• Start Time: 9 AM
• Entry Fee: $65 until Oct 24th $70 from Oct 25th through Oct 31st.
• Packet Pickup: Race day morning starting at 7:00 am
• Race Swag: All entries will receive a T-shirt and patch.

Results and Awards

• Result: This will be chip timed with each lap being recorded.
• Awards: Overall winner will receive the Headless Horseman trophy and a $25 Playmakers gift card. Other finishers will receive a smaller Headless Horseman.
• Winning Criteria: Overall winner will be the last one standing or if multiple runners on last lap, fastest loop is the winner.
• Note: There will not be an aid station on the course. One aid station will be near the start/finish with snacks and drinks.
