DU Crimson Classic 5K Run/1.5 Mile Walk

About

The University of Denver's 14th Annual Crimson Classic 5K Run/1.5 Mile Walk will take place on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 on Carnegie Green Lawn at 3:00pm. Music, stretching, and snacks will start at 2:15pm. The focus of the Crimson Classic is to celebrate well-being and to bring together our community. This is a free event! Please scroll down for the day's schedule. All participants who register before the deadline will receive an Annual Crimson Classic t-shirt. Routes & Time

• Race Course Map: Please see the Race Course Map.
• Hydration: The afternoons in Denver can reach warm temperatures, please be sure to hydrate prior, during, and after the event.
• Weather: We also may experience rain or even snow during this time of year - so please check the weather to best prepare.
• Water Stations: Water stations will be located at the Start/Finish line and along the course.

Course Distance: 5K (3.2 Miles) = Two (2) laps around the course. The 1.5 Mile Walk = one (1) lap around the course.

Timeline for Crimson Classic Day

• 1:00pm: On-site Run Registration, T-shirt Pick-up, Bib Pickup on Carnegie Green Lawn.
• 1:00pm – 2:00pm: Vendors, Sponsors, and Department Table Set-up.
• 2:00pm: Music, Games, and Vendors.
• 3:00pm: Air Horn!! Run/Walk Begins!

3:00pm - 4:30pm: Racing, Mingling, Music, Vendor Interaction, Games Pre and Post Race.

Registration and Result Posting Instructions

• Registration: Register for the race by clicking "Sign Up". It is free for all participants.
• Waiver: During registration, you will be asked to sign a waiver.
• Day-of Registration: If you are joining the race day-of, there will be paper waivers for you to sign at the registration table or a QR code for you to fill out registration via your phone.
• Results Posting: Race Results will be posted on Carnegie Green Lawn following the race and online.

Event Exclusions

• Strollers: Strollers are allowed, but please ensure to start in the back after all other runners and walkers.
• Pets: Pets are not allowed on course. Service animals are allowed.
• Child Participation: Participants under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
• Awareness: Please be aware of your surroundings while racing.
