Event Overview

In honor of Anders Elmblad, we are proud to host the 3rd Annual Doggy Dash 5K.

About Anders Elmblad

• Memory: Anders passed away in 2024 at the age of 25 after a courageous battle with glioblastoma.
• Comfort: During his time at Michigan Medicine, the therapy dogs brought him comfort, companionship, and moments of joy.
• Legacy: To honor Anders’ life and continue his legacy, we are raising funds to sponsor a new therapy dog at Michigan Medicine through the Paws4Patients program.
• Support: All proceeds from this event will directly support that mission.

Race Details

• Timing: This year’s race features chipped timing.
• Inclusion: Participants of all ages, paces, and abilities are welcome—whether you choose to walk, jog, or run.
• Family-Friendly: Strollers, children, and of course, furry friends are encouraged to join the fun!
• Date and Location: Join us on September 26, 2026, at 8801 N Territorial Rd, Dexter, MI.

Event Merchandise

• T-Shirts: We are grateful to Ann Arbor T-Shirt Company for generously donating the first 100 event t-shirts.
• Sales Donation: After those are claimed, 50% of all t-shirt sales will continue to benefit Paws4Patients.
• Custom Items: Lara Elmblad has created custom dog bandanas and dog stuffed animals which will be available for purchase.
• Pre-Order Deadline: Pre-order online sales for t-shirts, bandanas, and dog stuffed animals will close on Friday, September 11th.

Course Amenities

• Refreshments: Water and bananas will be available along the course.
• Post-Race Food: After the race, participants can enjoy baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, and dog treats available for purchase.
• Proceeds: Proceeds from post-race food support the fundraiser.
• Entry Fee: Hudson Mills Metropark charges a $10 vehicle entry fee unless you have a Metroparks annual pass.
