Molly's Knob Challenge Extreme 5K

Join the Smyth County Chamber of Commerce for the annual Molly's Knob Challenge on Saturday, October 4th, 2025!

📍 Location

Located in the beautiful Hungry Mother State Park, the Molly's Knob Challenge is not your average 5K!

🏔️ Course Details

• Elevation Gain: Challengers will take on the summit of Molly's Knob, gaining more than 1,000 feet elevation in the first 1.7 miles.
• Course Length: The course is approximately 3.4 miles long, making it a longer than average race.
• Terrain Restrictions: Due to the difficult terrain, no dogs are allowed in the race.

📝 Registration Information

• Pre-registration: Pre-registration is required!
• Deadline: Registration is open until September 26th and is $30.

⏰ Race Day Details

• Check-in Time: Check in for the race will begin at 8:00am in Parking Lot 6 in Hungry Mother State Park.
• Race Start: The race will begin at 9:00am at the Molly's Knob trailhead.
• Entry Waiver: Please note all competitors will need to complete an entry waiver prior to participating in the 5K.
