Organizer: Women In Training, Inc. (WIT), a volunteer-driven youth empowerment nonprofit organization that works to end period poverty.

Location: Montgomery Whitewater, Montgomery, AL.
Goal: Raising funds to distribute #WITKITS of menstrual, dental and hygiene supplies to underserved girls.
🏅 Race Events
WIT 5K (3.1 mile) Run/Walk: Starting at 9:00 AM CST, participants will run and/or walk the 5K course for a timed result. Overall and age group awards based on time, and all participants will receive a unique WIT 5K t-shirt.
VIRTUAL WIT 5K Run/Walk: For those who cannot participate in person. Your shirt, bib, and medal will be mailed, and you can submit your results on this site.
📈 About the Fundraiser
WITKITS Campaign: A fundraiser for providing menstrual products and hygiene items to low-income young people who menstruate.
Impact: Following the pandemic, the number of girls and women unable to afford period products increased significantly, affecting their daily lives.
Health Concerns: Many girls resort to unsafe alternatives due to the lack of access to period products.
Success: Since its founding in July 2019, WIT has distributed over 50,000 WITKITS across Alabama, contributing to the mission of ending period poverty.
📜 Awards
Participant Medal: Every 5K participant (in-person or virtual) will receive a participant medal.
In-Person Race Winners: Overall male and female winners will receive unique WIT trophies, and age group winners will also get special medals.
Overall Winners: Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for both males and females in the overall standings.
Age Groups: Awards for participants in specific age groupings (0-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+).
