27th Annual Scheels Turkey Trot

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

While Sir Stuffy totally rocks a hard hat, we’ll leave the heavy lifting to the real pros. Our speedy 10k is on hold while Sparks Blvd gets a makeover with road construction, but don’t worry, it’ll be back before you know it. This year’s Turkey Trot will keep things cozy with our classic 2-mile stroll around the Marina, perfect for soaking up the views and holiday cheer. Feeling extra peppy? Go ahead and trot that extra mile… or four… by taking two more laps around the Marina. And to make this year extra memorable, we’re bringing back our famous Turkey Trot sweatshirts!

👷 Construction Theme

• Support: To help show our support and excitement for the widening project, we are encouraging walkers and runners to wear something "construction" related!
• Prizes: We can’t wait to see what you all come up with and the runner or walker that has the most construction related clothing on (throughout their run or walk), gets a special prize from our special events team.

💰 Proceeds

Race proceeds ($2 per runner) will go to Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful and Amateur Radio Emergency Services.

📅 Race Day Details

2 MILE EVENT: Non-timed event

• Start Time: Begins at 8:30am in the Scheels parking lot
• Course: 1 clockwise lap around the Sparks Marina

🅿️ Parking

Please be advised that open parking will be available throughout Legends, except in the front area where the event will be taking place. For the safety of all participants and volunteers, do not move or place equipment in areas where parking is not available. Thank you for your cooperation and support in keeping the event safe and organized.

👶 Strollers & Dogs

We encourage the use of jogging strollers along the route of this family-friendly event. However, out of consideration for other participants, dogs will not be allowed on the course (except for registered and licensed service dogs).

📝 Shirt & Event Information Pick Up

November 24th - November 26th, 9am-4pm at the City of Sparks Parks and Recreation Department, 98 Richards way, Sparks, NV 89431.
