About this race
Join us for the 16th annual Race the Helix-Greenwood race, inspired by one family's desire to raise awareness for genetic disorders and funding for genetic research! All proceeds benefit the Greenwood Genetic Center Foundation.
Times are based on the start times above.
- Preordered Race the Helix t-shirts and 5K race bibs can be picked up at the race on Saturday morning beginning at 8:00 AM.
- Early pickup for preordered t-shirts and 5K race bibs is also available at the Greenwood Genetic Center (106 Gregor Mendel Circle) on the Friday before the race between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
Online t-shirt sales will close on . There will be a very limited number of t-shirts available for sale on race day. First come, first served.
Pre-packaged snacks and water will be provided.
The course map will be posted before race day.
- 1st place overall male and female
- 1st place male and female in each age group category
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Greenwood Genetic Center Foundation. For more information about the Greenwood Genetic Center Foundation or to make a donation, please visit the foundation's site.
This race is one of the community charity races in the Upstate Giving Series, which connects local races with the Upstate nonprofits they support. Every finish counts toward the series standings.
- Rain or shine: the race goes on in any weather. If lightning or severe weather makes it unsafe, the start may be delayed.
- No refunds: all registrations are final.
- Race-day registration: open on your phone until the race starts.
