Registration opens in October 2025.

Event Overview

• Main Event: RRRC's Bear Creek 10 Mile Trail Run remains the main event.
• Course: The challenging loop course passes through the piedmont hills of Cumberland State Forest and Bear Creek Lake State Park.
• Mini Loop: For 2027, the Mini loop course offers an easier to consume, but still challenging, 4.2-mile option run on a sweet combination of park trails, Willis River Trail single track, and Cumberland Multi-use Trail.

Race Details

• Location: Both races start and end at Bear Creek Lake State Park in Cumberland, Virginia (about 45 minutes west of Richmond).
• Registration Cap: These are in-person races with total registration capped at 275 runners/hikers (200 for 10 Mile Run and 75 for Mini Run).
• Virtual Option: There is a virtual race option available.

Charity Contribution

Richmond Road Runners Club will donate $1.00 of each runner's registration fee to the Friends of Bear Creek Lake State Park -- the citizen volunteers from Virginia’s Central Piedmont region who enjoy supporting the park’s mission and operation.
