🌟 Purpose of the Walkathon

• Core Values: The Walkathon will be the capstone event following our lessons on Jamison’s Core 4 values: Service, Ownership, Attitude, and Respect.
• Student Engagement: It’s a chance for students to put what they’ve learned into action while coming together as a school community.
• Fundraising Goals: The Walkathon will be our “one-stop shop” fundraiser to cover the HSA budget.
• Family Benefits: Aims to ensure most Jamison events can be free for families and others can be inexpensive throughout the year!

🤝 Background and Challenges

• Previous Funding: In the past, much of the HSA budget came from 100% Jet, but participation and revenue have dropped significantly.
• Current Strategy: To make up the difference, we've had to rely on increasing entrance fees and other add-ons.
• Community-Centered Approach: Unlike many schools, we do not want to ask our families to sell cookies, popcorn, or gift wrap.
• Event Focus: We're aiming for one big, community-centered event through the Walkathon!
