Freed to Run Challenge 5K

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

Join us Sunday morning for the 5K run in the Freed To Run Challenge — a powerful way to support Jacksonville Area Legal Aid’s Shelter for Elders Endowment while getting your legs moving.

📅 When & Where

• Time: The 5K begins at 11:00 a.m. (Sunday) around the Duval County Courthouse. Each loop is ½ mile, so participants will complete 10 laps to reach the full 5K distance.
• Location: 501 W Adams St, Jacksonville, FL.

🏞️ Course Details

• Course: This is a flat, spectator-friendly looped course circling the courthouse grounds — ideal for runners and walkers alike.
• Loops: Participants will complete 10 laps around the courthouse to cover the full 5K distance.

👥 Who Can Participate

• All Welcome: Everyone is welcome — from seasoned runners to casual walkers and first-time racers.
• Part of a Larger Event: You’ll be part of a larger weekend of challenges (12-hour, 24-hour, relay, bike ride), but this 5K is a great entry point into the event.

💖 Mission-Driven

• Support JALA: Proceeds from the 5K support JALA’s Shelter for Elders Endowment, helping low-income seniors with housing-related legal issues.
• Impact: This includes eviction defense, reverse mortgage fraud, scam prevention, and home condition disputes.

🎉 Finish & Celebration

• Finish Line: Cross the finish line and join us at the midday Finish Line Celebration on the lawn of the Duval County Courthouse.
• Community Gathering: Participants from all Freed To Run events will gather to celebrate.
