Come join us on September 12, 2026, at the Lake Perris Dam in Perris, CA, as we celebrate our MVRRC Shoe4Africa 5K — a championship in the making!

 

Shoe4Africa is dedicated to creating better health and education opportunities for communities in Eastern Africa. The charity has raised significant funds for hospitals, schools, and other essential building projects through donations and the incredible efforts of runners around the world. Athletes who participate in marathons and road races help support these life-changing initiatives through fundraising and awareness.

Don’t miss Southern California’s best Shoe4Africa fun run tradition!

We’ll feature:

• A 1-Mile Kids Championship Race (ages 12 and under)

• A 5K Championship Race for all levels

Everyone is welcome — families, walkers, and runners!

Where

Enjoy a historic course along the Dam, known as The Lake Perris Dam.

You’ll pass by the beautiful lake in the cool morning air. It’s a flat course with no traffic, perfect for fast times and first-time runners.

Course

• Starts and finishes at the Dam area

• Flat, long, and closed to traffic

• Great for PRs, kids, and competitive runners

When

• Date: Saturday, September 12, 2026

• Packet Pick-Up: Race day only, starting at 7:30 AM

• Kids 1-Mile Start: 8:15 AM

• 5K Championship Start: 8:30 AM

Awards & Prizes

Kids 1-Mile Championship Race (Ages 12 & Under):

• Awards to Top 3 boys and Top 3 girls

• Bonus: Any kid (boy or girl) who breaks 6 minutes or under in the 1-mile race will win a $50 cash prize

5K Championship (Open Males & Females):

• Top 3 Males & Top 3 Females – Cash Prizes:

  • 1st: $150

  • 2nd: $75

  • 3rd: $50

Giveaways:

• Medals to all participants

• First 50 sign-ups will receive a t-shirt

Fees

• Kids 1-Mile: $5.00

• 5K Race: $20.00

• All fees are the same on race day.

• $20.00 per vehicle to enter Lake Perris State Recreation Area
