Join us for our 1st Annual 5K Run or Walk, Operation: Jake.
What is Down the Leash Service Dogs?
- Type: A 501(C)3 Veteran ran Non-Profit Organization.
- Purpose: Provides an environment for our nation's heroes to train their Service Dogs.
- Atmosphere: Offers a safe environment with a family-like atmosphere.
- Training: Teaches basic and advanced dog handling skills, building bonds between Veterans and their service partners.
When is the Race?
- Date: Saturday, October 10th, 2026.
- Location: Herrin Park District Park in Herrin, Illinois.
- Schedule: Packet pickup starts at 9am.
- Ceremony: Opening Ceremony with a Presentation of Colors at 10:30am, followed by the race.
