Calling all superheroes! Join FKSI's 14th Superhero 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, September 19, 2026. Whether you race in-person at Turley Park in Carbondale, Illinois, or complete your 5K virtually from anywhere in the universe, every step helps change lives.

Mission Impact

• Support for Families: Helping provide food, clothing, shelter, healthcare, education, and opportunities to children and families in Bangladesh, The Gambia, and Southern Illinois.
• Empowerment: Every registration supports FKSI's mission to educate and empower those in need.

Fundraising Challenge

• Goals: Raise $350 or more to receive a special FKSI swag gift.

• Registration & Festivities: Opens at 8:00 AM
• Race Start Time: 9:00 AM
• Participation Options: In-Person or Virtual

Registration

• Adults: $25
• Kids (17 & under): $15
• Pre-Register by: Monday, September 7 to guarantee your event t-shirt.

Race Packet Pick-Up

• Friday, September 18: 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Turley Park (Shipping available for virtual participants)
• Day of Registration: Opens at 8:00 am: t-shirts available while supplies last

• 1st & 2nd Place Awards: in each 5-year category age division (In-person only)
• Categories include: 1-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+
• Prizes for: Top Fundraisers, Fastest Times, Best Superhero Costumes, Best Dressed Pet, and More!

Race Options

• Run or Walk: the certified Superhero 5K course with chip timing by To The Finish or complete your 5K virtually and submit your results online on the race website.
