TAKEDOWN THE NEW YEAR - 5K RUN/WALK

ATTENTION ALL PRE-REGISTERED AND NEW PARTICIPANTS!  THE INCOMING RAIN STORM HAS FORCED US TO MOVE OUR RACE FROM 1/3/26 to 1/19/26. 

In an effort to keep everyone safe before, during, and after the 5K, we have decided to move the event to the next best date on our school's calendar.  The event will now take place on the first national holiday in January (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day) Monday, January 19th with the same Race Day Schedule listed below.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you and we hope you understand that your safety is our top priority.  More updates coming soon.

The Boys & Girls Wrestling teams at Buhach Colony HS invite you, your family, and friends to the first annual Takedown the New Year 5K. This fun-filled abd competitive event will take place on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Buhach Colony HS in the city of Atwater. Our goal is to raise enough funds to help our young student/athletes purchase new uniforms, warm ups, wrestling equipment, and cover all tournament-related expenses. 

Race Day Schedule:

       10:00am-11:00am = Packet pick up and race-day registration

       11:30am-11:45am = Kids Race will be 1 lap around the brand new, all-weather Track at BCHS!

       12 noon = 5K Run/Walk will be chip-timed by Alpha-Ro Timing (LIVE Results available at RunSignup.com).

Raffle:  Stick around for the post-race raffle!  Your bib is your ticket to win one of the many gift baskets and raffle prizes (must be present to win).   

Finisher's Medals to ALL participants in the Kids Race.  Age-Group Medals for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd places in the following 5K Run/Walk:  10 and under, 11-13, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+.  Pre-purchase an event shirt or hoodie and pick it up on race day!
