Clear Lake Earth Day Youth Mile, 5K & 10K Races

Race Overview

Kick off the 2026 racing season with Clear Lake's Earth Day Youth Mile, 5K & 10K races on Saturday, April 18th. The Youth Mile will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K & 10K races will begin at 9 a.m.

Youth Mile Details

• Location: City Park
• Course: Participants will make 3 loops around City Park, finishing by the seawall.
• Incentive: Participants will receive an Earth Day Coloring Bag.

5K & 10K Race Details

• Starting Point: Lakeside at the Main Avenue boat ramp.
• Course: Runners will make one loop around City Park before heading out along South Shore Drive.
• Turnaround: Runners will reach the designated 5K or 10K turnaround before heading back toward City Park.
• Finish Line: Turn left at Main Avenue to finish in front of the Lady of the Lake.

Prizes

For each race, prizes will be awarded to the overall male and female winners as well as the top male and top female winners from the following age categories: 13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+. (5k & 10k races only)

Registration Information

• Deadline: Sign up by March 20th to receive a shirt (5k & 10k races only).

Event Organizers

Clear Lake Earth Day 5K & 10K races are presented by the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and directed by Tyler Havens. Havens is the Clear Lake High School Head Cross Country/Track & Field Coach, Clear Lake Earth Day 5K & 10K Race Director and Freedom 5K Race Director.
