Event Overview
The Coal Cracker 10k is an iconic running event nestled in the heart of the Coal Region. Beginning in the center of Shenandoah (PA), runners take off through downtown Shenandoah before being met with the first of many challenging hills.
Course Details
- Challenging Hills: The course features twists, turns, and gently rolling hills.
- St. Nick's Breaker: A steep, seemingly endless hill that tests runners' grit and endurance.
- Downhill Cruise: Once at the top, runners enjoy a 1 mile cruise downhill back into town.
- Finish Line Challenge: The finish line awaits atop a short but nasty incline!
Awards and Celebration
The Coal Cracker 10k is a challenging race that will leave runners feeling breathless and accomplished. All participants are invited to attend the awards ceremony complete with world famous Mrs. T's Pierogies and cold Yuengling beer.

- After Party: Join the Coal Cracker after party hosted by The Lyric Bar & Restaurant.
- Unique Awards: The Coal Cracker offers 50+ unique awards, each handcrafted from the finest coal in Schuylkill County.
Fun Runs
In addition to the 10K, the Coal Cracker will also be offering a 1.5 Kids' Fun Run open to children 12 and under.
- Kids' Fun Run: Open to children 12 and under.
- Run/Walk Option: A 1.5 mile run/walk is also available!
