Lake Area Runners presents 4 for the Fourth!

Overview:

• Event: Lake Area Runner's hottest race of the year!
• Distance: Celebrate our nation’s independence by running 4 miles for the 4th of July!
• Course: Flat and fast out-and-back race along scenic Lakeshore Drive.
• Participants: This event is open to both walkers and runners!

Important Note:

• Hydration: Please hydrate well prior to the event.
• Date and Time: Saturday, July 4, 2026 at 7:00 AM
• Location: Police Jury Parking Lot, corner of Lakeshore Drive and Gill Street, 1110 Pithon Street, Lake Charles, LA 70601
• Final Race: This is the last race of the Triple Crown Series!

Registration Fees:

• Early Bird: $35 from January 20, 2026 to June 15, 2026
• Regular: $45 from June 16, 2026 to July 2, 2026
• Last Minute: $55 on July 3, 2026 and July 4, 2026 (online registration only)
• Age Pricing: Registrants 5-9 years old = $5 registration fee (shirt not included).

Packet Pickup:

• Friday, July 3rd: House of Sole Running Shoes, from 12 PM to 5:45 PM
• Saturday, July 4th: Parking lot of CCPJ from 6:00 AM to 6:30 AM
• Identification: Registered participants need photo identification.
• Proxy Pickup: Allowed for immediate family members only with identification.

Race Day Schedule:

• 6:00 AM: Packet pickup and race day registration opens (online registration only)
• 6:30 AM: Packet pickup and registration closes
• 6:45 AM: Pre-race meeting
• 7:00 AM: Race begins

Awards:

• Overall Winners: Top male and top female will receive TBD awards.
• Age Groups: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in 10-year age groups for males and females.
• Age Categories: 0-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
• Special Prize: Finish all three Triple Crown races for a special prize!

T-Shirts:

• Included: Short-sleeved performance shirts for registered participants.
• Age Exceptions: Shirts not included for ages 5-9 and 65+.
• Shirt Purchase: Can be purchased separately for $20.
• Guarantee: Shirts are guaranteed for participants registered by June 15th.

Cancellation Policy:

• No Refunds: Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable.
• Weather Related: Cancellations due to lightning or severe conditions will be communicated.
• Understanding: We recognize the dedication of runners and try to avoid cancellations.
• Communication: Updates will be posted on social media and by email if necessary.

Parking:

• Available: In the CPPJ parking lot and Lake Charles Event Center.
• Avoid Parking: Do not park on Gill Street or Lakeshore Drive.
• Respect: Please follow parking guidelines for safety and access.

Volunteers:

• Packet Pickup: Friday, July 3rd from 12:30 PM to 5:00 PM and Saturday, July 4th from 6:00 AM to 6:30 AM.
• Race Site Setup: Saturday, July 4th from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
• Hydration Stations: Monday, July 4th from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM.
