Downtown Visalia Kiwanis 0.5K Donut Run/Walk and Shoe Fling at Mooney Grove Park

Race Overview

• Distance: 0.5K (no typo here), which is one lap plus 180 feet on a standard running track, or 546.8 yards.
• Slogan: A “Point 5K - The Race for The Rest of Us,” targeting those for whom longer races may be too great a distance.
• Date and Time: March 20, 2027, Saturday, starting at 10am, with registration beginning at 9am.
• Location: Mooney Grove Park (next to Tulare County Museum) in Visalia, CA.

Aid and Rewards

• Aid Station: Sponsored by Denny's, providing donut holes, coffee, or juice at the halfway mark.
• Finish Line: All participants receive a donut and a 1st place medal upon finishing.
• Event Purpose: Although the event is humorous, proceeds benefit Kiwanis projects aiding children in the community.
• Youth Participation: Kids 10 years old and younger can participate for FREE (No T-Shirt). Strollers are welcome!

Costume Contest

• Theme: Attendees are encouraged to come dressed as a donut!
• Award: A trophy will be awarded to the Best Dressed Donut costume.

Shoe Fling Competition

• Challenge: Participants can prove their skills in the Brown's Shoe Fit Shoe Fling Competition after the Donut Run/Walk.
• Categorization: The competition will include Adults (18 and over), Youth (Under 18), and Kids (10 and under).
• Objective: Swing and kick your shoe as far as possible!

Special Entertainment

• Performance: The 198 Express Barbershop Quartet will provide musical entertainment during registration (9am - 10am).
