2026 Market Street Run for Blue - Date TBD

Event Overview

The annual 5-mile Market Street Run for Blue will be held on a Sunday in October 2026. You can run 5 Miles OR walk 3 Miles. There will be no virtual option, but you can purchase a shirt to be mailed to you. This is your chance to show your support of the dedicated officers of the Philadelphia Police Department. Please show your support for those who protect and serve our city!

The Race Course and Brief History

• Conquer Market Street: You may have conquered Broad Street, now you can conquer Market Street too!
• Route Details: Starting in historic Old City just a stone’s throw from the Delaware River and running 2.5 miles along Market Street to the shadow of 30th Street Station above the mighty Schuylkill River: looping back to the finish line.
• Walkers: Walkers turn around at City Hall and loop back to the finish line.

Purpose of the Event

• Fundraiser: The Market Street Run for Blue is a fund-raiser for the Philadelphia Police Foundation and offers a competitive or fun 5 mile run or 3 mile walk experience for all participants. To learn about the important work of the Foundation visit www.phillypolicefoundation.org.
• Community Building: It's a chance to strengthen community ties and enjoy some positive interactions with the Philadelphia Police Department.

Location

Updates this year due to Construction: The race starts and finishes at Front and Dock Streets next to the Philadelphia Marriott Old City. It will end with a Street Festival at Front and Dock Street (with roads closed for food, fun, and awards).

Note: Race Course finish has changed, see the map here for updates. Jogging Strollers are welcome!

Bib/Shirt Pick Up

Bib/Shirt Pick Up for in-person participants only will take place inside the Old City Marriott (Front and Dock Streets) on the following days/times:

• Friday, Oct. 17: from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Saturday, Oct. 18: from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Sunday morning, Oct. 19 (race day): from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m.

Award Ceremony

• Overall Winners: Monetary awards will be given to the top 3 overall male and female runners. Each overall winner will receive a cash prize.
• Age Group Awards: Awards for the Top 3 Male/Female Runners recognized in each age bracket – 5-13, 14-17: 18-29: 30-39: 40-49: 50-59: 60-69: 70+

Amenities

All paid participants will receive a Market Street 'Run for Blue' performance long-sleeve dri-fit race shirt. Finisher Medals are not guaranteed after September 15th, so register early to ensure you get a medal at the finish line.

Post-Race Celebration

Celebrate with the Mounted Unit horses, K9s and Wawa after the race. Coffee, pastries, and more from our sponsor Wawa. Also, Live music from our sponsor 93.3 WMMR radio. This will be fun for everyone!

The Mission of the Philadelphia Police Foundation is to provide important support and resources to the Philadelphia Police Department (PPD) to assist the Department in ensuring the safety and security of the city’s residents, visitors, and businesses. Established in 1998, the PPF (a 501c3 non-profit) is committed to assisting the PPD, the nation’s 4th largest police department, in their service to our city.
