14th Annual Andrew Monroe Memorial Scholarship 5K Run/Walk

Event Overview

The 14th Annual Andrew Monroe Memorial Scholarship 5K Run/Walk takes place on the #1 Rated Siesta Key Beach in beautiful Sarasota, Florida.

Purpose: The event provides scholarships for further education to Riverview High School Senior Soccer players, JROTC Cadets, and Track Athletes. If there are remaining funds, they will continue to grow the Sarasota Community Foundation Scholarships in Andrew's name.

Legacy: Andrew so LOVED soccer that his parents wanted to keep his legacy of education alive. He also had a heart for the unfortunate.

Community Involvement

Food Drive: PLEASE BRING A CAN OR TWO OF FOOD FOR MAYOR'S FEED THE HUNGRY.

Clothing Drive: AND OLD SHOES AND CLOTHING FOR RESURRECTION HOUSE.

Event Details

The event includes:

• Pre-Race Gathering: Pre-race Starbucks coffee with a color guard and national anthem opening.
• Door Prizes: Following the race, stop by the door prize board to see if you won one of our roughly 175 door prizes.
• Awards: We give trophies to Overall, Masters, Grand Masters, Sr. Grand Masters, Veteran Grand Master as well as for 6 deep in each category, with 3 deep receiving a medal.
• Age Groups: 5 year age groups to 90 and above.

The goodie bags are filled with pretty awesome goodies as well. ONLY TO THE FIRST 350 registrants. Check out our website www.andrewmonroe.com.

• Early Packet Pickup: FRIDAY JANUARY 8th 4PM-7PM - NEW BALANCE, 315 Cattleman Rd, Suite 1 - West University District.
• Early Packet Pickup: SATURDAY JANUARY 9th -- 10am to 2pm - NEW BALANCE SARASOTA, 1872 Stickney Point Rd., Sarasota.

Timing Information

Prize Determination: Per USATF rules, gun time is used to determine prize money winners and time bonus recipients. Tag time (chip time) will be used to determine all age-group results.
