Starting Times

  • Staggered Starts: 66 milers will leave right at 7 am with the first police escort.
  • Releases: We give them a few minutes before releasing the 33 milers.
  • 8 Miler: They take off a few minutes later, typically led by hometown Olympian, Mike Allen.
  • Fun Note: As a reminder, this event is not timed and everyone is a winner! But it is still fun to watch the super-fast cyclists pretend they aren't racing!

Sag Wagon

  • Support: If you get out and realize you've taken on more than you can handle, there are several Sag Wagons on the course!
  • Contact: One of the wagons is Brian at 520.289.1966, and he is happy to coordinate a pickup!
  • Assistants: Daniel is in another wagon and can be reached at 520.508.1879.
  • Repairs: Sabino Cycles will have a tune-up tent set up at the starting line, and Specialized Bike will also have a mechanic available to help with repairs.

Thank You!!!

Thank you for coming out and supporting The Willcox Flyer! Thank you to all of our sponsors and all of our volunteers! Every dollar that we raise goes to Small Town, Big Dreams 501c3. The BIG dream of Small Town, Big Dreams is that eventually every student that graduates from Willcox High School will have access to post-secondary education. We currently have 23 students that we provide scholarships for - many of which are first-generation advanced education members of their family! This is all made possible because of this bike ride - Thank you!
