Race Overview

The 2026 Escape Through The Cape 5k and 1 mile fun run will be held on Saturday, April 11th, 2026. Come out to the Cape Saint Claire Elementary School for our 8:30 am start time and stay for our Fit Family Festival through 11 AM.

• Start Time: 8:30 AM
• Location: Cape Saint Claire Elementary School
• Registration Deadline: 3/27 for Tech material race shirts
• Finisher Medals: Custom medals for EVERYONE!!!

We will have FREE activities for kids and a variety of local vendors will be on hand. Plus, join us for great refreshments following the race.

Registration Information

Short sleeve technical shirts (Youth S - Adult 4XL) available to those who register by 4/1/26. On-line registration available through race start time. Please see the FAQs below for additional information.

Race Day Schedule

• 7:30: Late Registration and Packet Pick Up
• 8:15: Opening Ceremony
• 8:30: 5K Start
• 8:45: 1 Mile Start

Awards Ceremony to Follow 5K. Fit Family Festival - 8AM - 11AM.

Awards

First place winners in each category (5k Run ONLY) will receive a small prize after the race - First Place Male and First Place Female, Male & Female 5 & under, 6-8, 9-11, 12-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & above. Finisher medals will be given to all finishers.

Fee Information

Your $30, non-refundable race fee will be applied towards the Cape Saint Claire Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). The Cape St. Claire Parent Teacher Organization (CSC-PTO) is dedicated to supporting the education and well being of the children in attendance at the Cape St. Claire Elementary School, and also to supporting the efforts of their teachers and families.

Additional Information/FAQs

• Weather Policy: This event is a RAIN or SHINE event. In case of a weather emergency necessitating cancellation, please check your e-mail for notification.
• Strollers: Strollers are welcome! This is a great event for the WHOLE family.
• Child Registration: We encourage you to register everyone who will participate. If you opt not to register your stroller child, kindly fill out a waiver on the morning of the event.
• Adult Supervision: Children must run with an adult or have an adult supervisor while running the 5K.

Pets are prohibited in accordance with guidelines set by the county schools.

Packet Pick Up

Dates/times will be announced. Location will be Cape St. Claire Elementary School! Shirts are guaranteed through April 1st. Any registrations after may not receive a shirt. All size exchanges must be done at the conclusion of the event.
