Race Overview

Join Augusta University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program for the 2nd annual Motion is Lotion 5K!

Event Purpose

• Celebration: In celebration of National Physical Therapy Month, this event highlights the power of movement.
• Role of PTs: The essential role physical therapists play in helping individuals live active, healthy lives.
• Community Impact: An opportunity to bring people of all ages and abilities together in support of wellness.
• Empowerment: Our DPT students are passionate about empowering others through education and rehabilitation.

Participation

• Who Can Join: Whether you’re a seasoned runner, weekend walker, or just looking to support a great cause.
• How to Help: We invite you to lace up and move with us!
• Support Initiatives: All proceeds and support will go toward promoting physical activity and supporting student-led outreach initiatives.
• Join Us: Come run, walk, or cheer — and help us celebrate movement as medicine!

Awards and Amenities

• Proceeds: All proceeds will go to the Augusta University’s Student Physical Therapist Association (SPTA).
• Awards Ceremony: Awards will be at 10:00 AM.
• Refreshments: There will be fruit and waters available to runners after the race.
• Course Details: This is an OPEN COURSE, meaning that the public will be running alongside us.

Course Information

• Parking: Please park at Riverview Park near the baseball fields.
• Course Description: We will run to SRP Park and back. This will be an out and back course equaling out to 3.12 miles.
• Respect for Others: Please use respectful passing maneuvers when trying to pass pedestrians on the Greenway.
• Yield to Bikers: Please yield to bikers. Thank you!
