Introduction
- Fourth Year: Swing the Gates is back for a 4th year!
- Halloween Theme: This time we are CLOSING the Park on Halloween!
- Activities: The event will include the popular 10k Team Scavenger Hunt and the classic 5k Fun Run.
- Community Event: Join a community of nature lovers, runners, walkers, and their K-9 companions.
5K Fun Run
- Kick-off Time: The run will start at 9:00 AM.
- Early Arrival: Arrive early to cheer on the 10K team scavenger hunt participants starting at 8:00 AM.
- Course Details: Paved surfaces with a 400 ft elevation gain; steep incline at the start.
- Strollers Welcome: Strollers, small children, and dogs are welcome!
10K Team Scavenger Hunt
- Team Challenge: Uncover the racecourse while solving challenges along the trails.
- Start Time: Teams set off at 8:00 AM.
- Course Difficulty: Primarily unpaved trails; expect 6.2 miles and 1200' elevation.
- Cutoff Times: Each clue station has cutoff times, with the final one closing at 11:00 AM.
Pricing
- 5K Fun Run: $30
- 10K Team Scavenger Hunt: $120.00 (first participant pays, others are free).
- Team Registration: Team name and password are necessary for teammates to register.
- Parking: A Discover Pass is required to park; available online or at the entrance.
Prizes
- Top Finishers: The top three finishers of each race category in the 5K Fun Run will win prizes.
- 10K Winner: The first place team in the 10K Scavenger Hunt will also win a special prize.
