The Berthoud Day 5K is a fun, family-friendly race that kicks off the Berthoud Day Parade with energy, connection, and hometown pride. Open to runners, walkers, families, strollers, and even leashed dogs, this inclusive event invites the whole community to come together in support of community health.
Race Details:
- Takes place in downtown Berthoud from 8:45–9:45 AM
- Race starts promptly at 8:45 AM
- Course is open for one hour; participants must finish or be off the course by 9:45 AM
- Mountain Avenue will be closed due to the parade—please plan ahead
Registration & Participation:
- Open to runners, walkers, families, strollers, and leashed dogs
- Unisex, women’s, and youth shirt sizes available for registered 5K participants
- Kids 12 & under (with adult supervision) can participate for free:
- Free participants are untimed and do not receive a shirt
- To be timed and receive a shirt, kids must register for the 5K
- Guaranteed shirt deadline: Friday, May 15
Course & Safety:
- Some uneven terrain—only running/off-road strollers are recommended
- Participants with strollers or dogs should start at the back
- Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome
Parking:
- Street parking available nearby
- Additional parking at New Freedom Outreach Center (250 Mountain Ave). Access via the alley due to Mountain Avenue closure

- Includes $2 off the community pancake breakfast
Awards & Celebration:
- Awards announced at noon on stage during Berthoud Day festivities, presented by Mayor Will Karspeck
- Categories include:
- Top male finisher

- Best costume (no theme—get creative!)
