Hellbender Hustle (and Dragonfly Dash)

Join us at this event highlighting the Eastern Hellbender - North America's largest salamander, and Pennsylvania's state amphibian. Come enjoy a morning outdoors and celebrate this rare and uniquely local species.

Event Details

• Date: 2026-09-12
• Location: Leaser Lake, Lehigh County (North Shore Access), New Tripoli, PA
• Race Format: 5-Mile Trail Run/Walk
• Youth Event: Dragonfly Dash - a ~100-yard sprint for youth 12 and under

Activities

• Family-Focused: Educational activities such as crafts and lawn games
• Prizes: Awards for top finishers and a native plant raffle for all participants
• Rain or Shine: The event will occur regardless of weather conditions
• Preparation: Attendees should bring essential outdoor equipment such as rain protection, sun block, and insect repellant

Amenities

• T-shirt: Available in sizes XS through 2XL
• Refreshments: Drinks and snacks will be provided
• Water Station: Located at the lake's South Ramp, halfway through the course
• Prizes: For top finishers

Registration

Registration begins at 8:00 am. Please register by September 1st to ensure you can select your T-shirt size. Same day registration will be available.
