About this race
Race Overview
Get out of the city and join us for another race with Soil Mates Trail Races. Run on beautiful private trails with fresh air, fun running mates, and no pavement over rich Georgia soil. Running on soil is good for the soul and your soles!
Feeling Loopy
Running laps on trails for hours can make you feel loopy. If you love that feeling like we do, come join us at our family-owned working cattle farm in middle Georgia (between Macon and Columbus) to see how many loops you can run.
Race Options
- All Levels Welcome: Whether you're a road runner who is trail curious, a seasoned trail runner, or a weekend hiker, this race offers options for all levels.
- Start Time: All three distances start together at 8:00 am.
- Flexible Options: Not sure you want to get too loopy? Run a single lap (we're flexible on the hour cutoff).
- Longer Distances: Longing for that loopy feeling? Tackle the four or eight-hour option (strict time cutoffs).
Course Details
- Start/Finish Point: The start/finish point of the 4.37-mile loop is in a large open pasture with plenty of room for free parking and crew set-up along the course.
- Facilities: Porto-potties will be next to the first trail segment, about 400 feet from the start/finish line.
- Trail Features: Most of the trail runs through pastures with a five-foot path cut through the grass, marked by guide ropes and arrows.
- Forest Trails: The 1.8 miles of forest trails are beautiful single tracks with plenty of twists, turns, roots, and rocks to keep your attention focused.
Wildlife and Terrain
- Watch for Wildlife: Keep an eye out for cows, deer, rabbits, armadillos, turtles, and turkeys.
- Elevation Gain: The trail has about 385 feet of elevation gain each loop over runnable hills and flat sections.
Race Supplies
This is a cupless race. Please bring your own handheld water bottle and/or hydration pack. Water refills will be available near the start/finish area and mid-way through the course. We’ll have race food available to supplement your own usual race fuel for those running the four and eight-hour races.
Race Swag
- Medals: Race swag includes a medal for the first male and female finisher in each race.
- Shirts: A short-sleeve shirt for all runners who register by August 23, 2026. This is a participation shirt. If you don’t run, you don’t get it.
