5th Annual Bearcat Pride 5k Run/Walk

🐾 Bearcat Pride 5K
Join us for the 5th Annual Bearcat Pride 5K in support of the Anson High School Cross Country and Wrestling Programs!

This year's race will be start and finish at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Wadesboro.  The down and back scenic route will take runners from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church to Dennis Road.  Runners will take a right, run on the road in the Pee Dee Wildlife Refuge, turn around and return to the Church.

🕖 Packet Pickup & Registration
Packet pickup begins at 7:00 a.m. on race day
Bathrooms, water, snacks, and awards will be located at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church
Awards will be presented shortly after the race concludes
Race will be held rain or shine

This same route was used for the Kenneth Brown Memorial Scholarship Run in October.  It was a big hit and raised enough money for three $1500 Scholarships for Anson Students.

 
🏃 Why We Run
The Bearcat Pride 5K directly supports the Anson High School Cross Country & Wrestling Programs. Both programs has strong 2025-26 Campaigns.

Anson will host the Rocky River Pre-Conference and Conference Meets in the fall. Our goal is to design a great course and host great meets for the student athletes.

With the new Anson Middle School being built next to Anson High School, we hope to one day construct a cross-country course connecting the two campuses, creating a lasting legacy for our runners.
