Warriors of Hope - Irene's 5K

Event Overview

Join us for the Second Annual Warriors of Hope 5K & 1K Fun Run held in loving memory of Irene Aragon, a remarkable woman who bravely fought gastric cancer before passing away in November 2023. Though Irene is no longer with us, her family has come together to continue her mission of spreading awareness and supporting those impacted by stomach cancer.

Why HOPE and This Event Matter

• Awareness: Stomach cancer is often diagnosed at a later stage, when patients have fewer options.
• Education: Changing that starts with awareness, education, and access.
• Community: HOPE exists to make sure no one faces that journey alone.
• Advocacy: We are working to improve outcomes and bring more visibility to a cancer that is too often overlooked.

Event Significance

This event is held in honor of Irene Aragon, whose strength and spirit continue to inspire this community. Her story is a reminder of why this work matters—and why showing up for one another matters.

Our run does more than raise funds—it brings people together, raises awareness, and helps drive change.

In 2025, our inaugural year, 250 people ran, walked, or cheered in person and around the US for stomach cancer patients. This year, we’re aiming to double that. If each participant brings just one more person, we can grow this event and its impact in a meaningful way.

Event Details

Warriors of Hope - Irene's 5K will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Meyer Park in Spring, Texas where families and friends of HOPE will gather to do something simple but powerful: walk, jog, connect, and be present together outdoors.

This event is about awareness, community, and support. If you’re not a runner or a walker, that’s okay—we need you too. Come cheer, volunteer, share a story, or simply be there.

Event Highlights

• Finisher Medals: for all participants.
• Shirts: included for 5K & Virtual 5K (Preferred shirt sizes are not guaranteed after 10/13/2026).
• 1K Fun Run: perfect for the kids - also includes shirt with registration.
• Tribute: to Irene Aragon and survivor and caregiver recognition.

Peer-to-Peer Fundraising

Participants will also have the opportunity to make a deeper impact by engaging in peer-to-peer fundraising, helping to amplify awareness and raise critical funds for the stomach cancer community.
