Event Overview

The Lake County Suicide Prevention Task Force 13th Annual 5K Walk/Run for Awareness and Suicide Prevention returns to the College of Lake County on Saturday, September 26, 2026. We are excitedly anticipating the connections with all who join us either in person or online. Over the last several years we have had walkers/runners from many different States, walking with us or independently from wherever they are, and last year we had our record number of participants! Your support is meaningful and helps us provide training and support to all the members of our community of Lake County.

• Registration Time: Registration starts at 9:00 AM in person at the College of Lake County.
• Kickoff Event: The Welcome & kickoff will start at 10:00 AM, with a Facebook Live option for those unable to attend in person.
• Community Engagement: Share any videos and photos of the event so we can also share with our Lake County community knowing that, We Are All In This Together!

Registration and Resource Fair

• Inclusions: This registration fee includes an event t-shirt and resource fair bag, with local resources from organizations throughout Lake County.
• Donation Option: If you are unable to walk or would like to donate to the event, you can do so by clicking the donations tab above, or as part of your registration.
• Pricing: $30 for adults, $10 for children 5 to 12 years old, Free -- kids 4 and under.
• Team Discount: Teams of 5 people or more ($25 each) - the first four individuals will pay the regular fee of $30, and the fifth and subsequent registrations will be $25.

T-shirt and Resource Bag Pick-up

• Advance Pick-up: We will be hosting a drive-thru event so you can pick up your walk t-shirts and resource bags in advance.
• Event Day Pick-up: T-shirts will also be available for pickup on the day of the Walk/Run event, Sept. 26.
• Date & Time: Date: 9/20/2026, Time: 9:00 AM-12:00 PM.
• Location: Lake County Health Department 3010 Grand Ave Waukegan, IL 60085.

Mission Support

All proceeds go to the Lake County Suicide Prevention Task Force and support our mission to prevent suicide and promote mental health awareness in Lake County through outreach events, professional training, and community education, because one suicide is too many.
