Grand Ledge Education Foundation Comet Chase 5K

Event Overview

The Grand Ledge Education Foundation Comet Chase 5k will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 in Grand Ledge, Michigan. All events begin and end at the Brandt-Spalsbury Track &: Field Facility (1211 Lohne Dr. Grand Ledge, MI 48837).

Race Schedule

• 1 Mile Run: Starts at 8:00 AM for youth 13 &: under on the track.
• 400m Kids Race: Begins at 8:30 AM for younger participants on the track.
• 5k Race: Begins at 8:45 AM on the track, finishing on the track after a marked course through town.

Proceeds

All proceeds go to benefit the Grand Ledge Education Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization that works to provide extra funding for special projects within the Grand Ledge Public Schools classrooms.

Pricing

• 5k In-Person: $35 until 5/30/26 then $45.
• Virtual 5k: $40 until 5/30/26 then $50.
• Kids Races: 1 mile and 400 yd dash - $20 until 5/30/26 then $25.

5K Groupings

Categories include: 10 and under, 11-13, 14-16, 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.

Awards & Prizes

• Post Race Refreshments: Provided for all registrants.
• Race Day Door Prizes: Chance to win upon entry.
• 5k Awards: Top 3 male and female winners in each division, plus finisher medals for all participants.
• Technical T-Shirt & Bag: Guaranteed for entries by June 5th for 5k participants.

Virtual 5k Details

All participants in the virtual 5k receive a finisher medal. Participants also receive a technical t-shirt and draw string bag, guaranteed for entries by June 5th. Medals and shirts will be mailed the week of June 23rd.

Kids Races

• 400m Kids Race: Comet Squeeze Ball for all participants. T-shirts for entries by June 5th.
• 1 Mile Youth Race: Awards for the top 10 finishers, plus a Comet Squeeze Ball for all participants. T-shirts available with timely entries.

Packet Pickup

Friday, June 12 from 4:30 PM-7:00 PM at the Sawdon Administration Building, 220 Lamson Street, Grand Ledge, MI 48837 Google Maps, and the morning of the race starting at 7:00 AM at the Grand Ledge High School Track &: Field Facility.

Race Day Parking

Available at the Brandt-Spalsbury Track &: Field Facility, 1211 Lohne Dr. Grand Ledge, MI 48837 Google Maps.

Timing and Results

The race will be timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Results will be posted during the race and live on this website.
