Event Details

• Date: August 8, 2026
• Location: #714 Rainbow Gulch Trailhead, Rampart Reservoir, Rampart Range Road, Woodland Park, CO
• Name Change: The race will now be formally known as Pat's Pony Express to honor the late Pat Lockhart.
• History: Founded in 1977, Pat’s Pony Express is a unique trail race located at the iconic Rampart Reservoir.

Course Information

• 2023 Course: The course will remain the same as the 2023 race, staying to the north of the reservoir.
• Parking: Use USFS Roads 950 and 951 for parking (1/4 M walk to the start).
• Limited Parking: There will be minimal parking on the west side of Rampart Range Road, with guides on-site to direct you.
• No Parking: NO parking is allowed on the east side of the road.

Participation Guidelines

• Parking Etiquette: Please share the Rainbow Gulch's parking lot with all trail users.
• Registration: Pre-registration is required.
• Bib Pickup: Starts at 7:00am.
• Race Start Times: 16 Mile race at 8:00am, 8 Mile race at 8:15am.
• No Day-Of Registration: THERE WILL BE NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION. ALL REGISTRATIONS ARE THROUGH RUNSIGNUP.
