All ultra (non-50k) runners are still welcome to adjust their race distance if they desire (at any time!), staggered starts are simply to space out participant starts! Only participants who start at the prescribed time will be eligible for awards, however you can request an alternative start time if traveling with someone starting earlier.
Runners are also welcome to start at alternative times if necessary. We'll be there for 30 hours, so we can be flexible!
Runners can do as much mileage as they want to within the 30-hour time limit by completing the following number of laps:
Runners may choose to stop and get credit for any full lap completed. 33k runners have 4 hours to do 2 full laps of the race (and can request an earlier start if they think they'll need more time...we'll already be there!). 11k runners have 3 hours to do their adventure.
As always, ultrarunners will start on Saturday, and 33k + 11k runners will start on Sunday.
As is tradition, we are intentionally keeping things low-key...this is about enjoying some miles in a beautiful location, not about awards, giant buckles, or festivities. There will, of course, be a small give-away and something special for 100 mile finishers, but don't expect anything fancy. There may be small unanticipated changes between now and the race date.
Further race information and details are found here.
Since the Chesterfield Gorge Ultra & Trail Races is a nonprofit fundraising event (that supports the Hilltown Land Trust), registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable due to registrants' inability to participate or in the event of cancellation due to circumstances beyond the control of race organizers. We thank you for your anticipated understanding and support.
