Event Overview
Join us for the 53rd Annual Fall Foliage & Cider Run on Saturday, October 17, 2026!
The Fall Foliage & Cider Run is a community celebration of Amherst A Better Chance, a residential high school program that prepares academically talented young men of color from educationally underserved school districts for college and future leadership roles.
Run or walk to support Amherst A Better Chance and enjoy a cup of cider at the finish line!
Race Course Details
- Starting Point: The walk/run starts at Amherst Town Common.
- Course Route: It partly circles Amherst College campus and enters the woodlands of The Amherst College bird sanctuary, highlighted by a beautiful view over the Pelham Hills.
- Trail: Finally, it follows the Norwottuck Rail Trail back to the campus.

Event Day Schedule
- 8:30 am: Registration for 5K Run and Walk begins.
- 10:00 am: 5K Run begins.
- 10:05 am: 5K Walk begins.
- 11:00 am–12 pm: Refreshments (cider, donuts, fruit, and granola bars), fellowship, and fun!
Awards and Prizes
Prizes will be announced after the race for the following categories:
- Fastest: female, male, and nonbinary runners in each age group (0-12 years, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ years).
