Event Overview

Come celebrate movement, nature, and one of North America’s most extraordinary journeys at the Inaugural Monarch Migration 5K & 1 Mile Caterpillar Crawl at Ruby Grant Park in Norman on Sunday, September 27th at 9:00am.

Location and Significance

• Venue: Ruby Grant Park
• Importance: An essential stopover habitat for monarch butterflies during their migration to Mexico each fall.
• Community Effort: Celebrate and support pollinator conservation.
• Event Significance: Kicks off Norman’s annual Monarchs in the Park celebration.

Race Series Info

We’re excited to welcome the Monarch Migration Run as a new stop on the Norman Race Series calendar! Because it’s part of the Monarchs in the Park event, this race will stand alone and will not count toward the overall series awards presented at the Christmas 5K.

Post-Race Celebration

✨After the run, stay for the Monarchs in the Park celebration — an educational and family-friendly festival dedicated to the monarch butterfly migration and pollinator conservation.

Live music kicks off at 11:00, and the fun — plus food trucks — keeps rolling until 4:00. Come hang out for the whole day!
