Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month — a time to come together, take action, and make a difference for children and families battling cancer.

Event Details

• Date: Saturday, September 19, 2026
• Location: Cavalier Fields, located at 4659 Cavalier Drive, Macon, GA 31220
• Start Time: 5K begins at 8:00 AM
• Format: Professionally chip-timed event

Participation Options

Whether you run, walk, cheer, or participate virtually, every step helps raise awareness and funding for childhood cancer and pediatric brain tumor research.

Honor Walk

Following the 5K, participants of all ages are invited to take part in the Gold Ribbon Honor Walk, a non-timed 1-mile walk around the track.

Community Engagement

This event is designed for runners, walkers, families, teams, and supporters throughout the community. Form a team, invite your friends and family, and help us make a difference in the lives of children fighting cancer.

Packet Pickup

• Time: Day of race starting at 7 AM
• Event T-Shirts: Only early registrations are guaranteed an event T-shirt.
• Early Registration: Ends September 5, 2026.
• Virtual Participants: T-shirts will be mailed following the event.

Event Schedule

• 7:00 AM: Check-In / Registration / Packet Pickup
• 7:30 AM: Warm-Up
• 8:00 AM: Gold Ribbon Trail 5K Run/Walk
• Immediately Following: Gold Ribbon Honor Walk
• Awards Ceremony: Following completion of the events

Awards and Recognition

• Medals: Awarded to the Top Three Finishers in each age group.
• Largest Team: Recognition will be awarded to the Largest Team.
• Event Format: The 5K Run/Walk is chip-timed. The Gold Ribbon Honor Walk is not timed.
