Goose Day 5K Race Overview

The 48th annual Goose Day 5K Run is an integral part of Mifflin County's unique Goose Day celebration in late September.

Course Details

• Course Type: Fast, flat, and perfect for a PR.
• Location: The course runs through the south end of Lewistown.
• Awards: Trophies for first overall male and female, first masters (40 & over) male and female.
• Age Groups: Top three finishers in nine male and female age groups (10 & Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & Over).

Runners' Benefits

• T-Shirt: All pre-registered runners will receive a technical race t-shirt.
• Support: Proceeds support youth and high school running programs.
• Scholarships: Four $500 scholarships awarded annually to graduating senior cross country and track and field student-athletes.
• Programs: Includes the JV Junior Striders youth programs and support for the 2026 New Balance National Indoor Distance Medley champions.

Registration Information

• Pre-Registration: $25.
• Age Discount: 18 & Under--$20.
• Family Rates: $40 for two, $55 for three, $70 for four ($15 for each additional family member).
• Deadline: Pre-registration closes at 11:59 pm Wednesday, September 23.

Race Day Registration

• Cost: $35 (ALL RUNNERS).
• Registration Start: Race Day Registration begins at 7:45 am.
• Location: Old Mifflin County Courthouse, Monument Square, Lewistown, PA.
• Application: Paper application only.
