Bark in the Park

Event Overview

The 10th annual Bark in the Park 5K will take place at the Sequoia Park in Eureka on October 17th! Every year Humboldt Bay Fire Local 652 takes all the proceeds of the race and donates them to an animal charity. This year's recipient is Sequoia Humane Society whose mission is to be a community leader in promoting the humane treatment of all animals, and end pet overpopulation by providing a high standard of care and through programs such as pet adoption, spay and neuter and community education. This race isn't just for two-legged racers: you can bring your dogs and run with them too!

Race Details

• Route: The route goes through the unique landscape of the Sequoia park where you're surrounded by majestic redwoods that the park is named after.
• Activities: At the end of the race, there will be a raffle and opportunities to adopt dogs to top it all off!

Event details and schedule

• Check-in: Starts at 0900
• Race Start: Starts at 1000
• Race Format: The race will be through loops through the Sequoia Park
• Parking: Parking will be on the street but is very limited, so consider doing a warm-up run to the race
• Weather: Make sure to bring a jacket for after the race: the weather in Eureka can change at any time
• Participation: Most importantly, don't forget your fur babies who can race with you!
