About the Tour

• History: Steps away from the restaurants and shops of downtown lies the hidden history of Steamboat Springs.
• Expert Guide: Join Colorado Mountain College’s Geology Professor as we explore Steamboat’s Mineral Springs.
• Accessibility: All ages are welcome: however, it is taught at an adult/young adult level, so young children may find much of the content difficult to understand.
• Admission Coupon: All participants will receive a half-off admission coupon to the Tread of Pioneers Museum.

Where to Meet

• Location: We will meet in the Steamboat Art Depot Parking Lot (1001 13th Street).
• Time: Please arrive by 8:50am.

What to Expect

• Tour Structure: This walk is broken into two segments.
• First Segment: The first hour covers approximately 1 mile and is mostly flat along city sidewalks.
• Optional Segment: The second optional trek to Lithia Springs covers another mile and has some elevation gain through residential streets.

What to Wear/Bring

• Attire: This is a casual walk: wear comfortable clothes and shoes for 1-2 hours outside.
• Weather Preparedness: Be ready for what the weather brings for the day: sun protection such as a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen is recommended.
• Safety Tip: UV rays are much more powerful at our elevation, so even two hours is enough to cause sunburns and sight damage.
• Essentials: Ensure you have a water bottle and any medications you may need, including epi-pens, with you.
