Race Overview
One of the greenest and most scenic races around, with pre and post-race food that gets raves. You can stay overnight in a cabin, or bring a tent, and wake up with a short walk to the starting line. Come feel the magic. The course includes a beach, a lighthouse, some challenging hills, a fishing village and lots of charm.
Event Details
Support Tanglewood and Blueberry Cove by joining Midcoast Maine’s 15th annual half marathon on August 23, 2026, at 7:30 AM. Registration is $100 — all proceeds go directly to supporting UMaine Cooperative Extension 4-H Camp & Learning Centers at Tanglewood & Blueberry Cove.
- Awards: Will be given to 1st place males and females overall and in the following divisions: 18 & under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 plus.
- Medals: Finisher medals to all participants.

Race Schedule
Saturday August 22, 2026
- 2:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m: Bib pick-up at Blueberry Cove.
- 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m: Chowder supper with fresh greens and salads, corn on the cob, and blueberry pie (There will be vegan options).
- After dinner: Socialize, and then early to bed.
Sunday August 23, 2026
- 5:30 a.m. - 7:15 a.m: Bib pick-up.
- 6:45 a.m: Volunteers meet at the Maine for pre-race instructions.
- 7:15 a.m: Participants walk to starting line together.
- 7:30 a.m: Race starts on Harts Neck Road.
- 9:30 a.m: Buffet brunch begins and continues through the morning.
- 10:30 a.m: Awards presented; enjoy Blueberry Cove with friends and family.
Race Features
- Mile markers: For all 13 miles.
- Water stations: Every 2-miles.
- Post-race brunch: Available after the race.
- Finish times: Provided for all participants.
Registration Information
- Cost: Registration for the Blueberry Cove 13.1 is $100.
- Capacity: Yes, race is capped at 250 runners/walkers.
- Dinner: Enjoy a real Downeast dinner Saturday from 6-7:30 p.m. for $25 per adult, $5 per child.
Course Description
The Blueberry Cove 13.1 is loaded with country roads, gentle hills, and lots of ocean views. It is a challenging circumnavigation of the lower St. George peninsula, starting and finishing at Blueberry Cove Camp off Harts Neck Road in Tenants Harbor, ME.
Weather and Conditions
Beautiful, it’s Maine! Definitely shorts weather. Cool but comfortable nights, warm days.
Additional Information
- Pets: No pets allowed, except for service animals.
- Bathroom facilities: Available at start/finish and along the route.
- Hydration: Hydration stations approximately every 2 miles.
- Showers: Limited shower facilities available on race day.
