About this race
Race Overview
This race is part of the River City Races Run the 502 series. Run six races on our calendar and get a Run the 502 Finisher Medal with charms of all the races finished. Click here for more details and to register for the Run the 502.
The Downtown Doubler is a 30k/15k/8k/4k that fits great into your fall training schedule whether you're running a half, full or a tri, and to have two times more fun we've added an 8k/4k as well as virtual options for all four individual events!
The races will start at 7:30 a.m. and finish at the New Albany Amphitheater, running along the scenic Ohio River Greenway.
Course Information
- Distance Options: 30k, 15k, 8k, 4k
- Starting Point: 100 E Water St, New Albany, IN
- Scenic Route: Views of downtown Louisville along the river
- Course Structure: Each loop is 15K (4k for the 8k), run the course twice to complete 30k
Entry Fee Includes
- Apparel: Long sleeve technical shirts for 30k and 15k, short sleeve for 4k and 8k
- Extras: Custom cooler bag for post-race goodies for all 30k and 15k entrants
- Virtual Options: All four distances have a virtual option
- Packet Mailing: Option to have your packet mailed for $10 (must register by August 31st)
Awards
- Medals: Finisher medals for all
- Top Finishers: Awards to the top three overall male and female, master and grandmaster male and female in the 30k & 15k (in-person only)
- Age Group Awards: Top three male and female in each age category (in-person only)
- 8k and 4k Awards: Awards to the top three male and female: age group awards available
Additional Information
- Free Photos: Free finisher photos!
- Pace Requirement: Walkers must maintain a 12:52/mile pace for the 30k: course closes at 11:30 a.m.
- Charity Partner: Help raise funds to keep the Ohio River Greenway beautiful: add a donation to your registration
- Refund Offer: Fundraise $150 or more to receive a refund on your registration fee
Greenway Description
The Greenway in New Albany includes 70 acres of wetland and bottomland forest for hiking, wildlife viewing, and exploration, in addition to multi-use paths and a roadway with an extensive riverfront view. Future plans call for the path at the river's edge continuing to West 10th Street.
