2026 Handloggers Half Marathon

Event Overview

The 12th annual Handloggers Half Marathon and Relay is on Saturday, September 5 2026.

This mountain trail run is a challenging 21km counter clockwise loop around Mt. Gardner. To get an idea of our beautiful course - check out our 2017 event video!

Race Details

• Start Time: The run begins at 9 am and starts/finishes near the ferry dock in Snug Cove, Bowen Island.
• Pre-race Check-in: Begins at 8 am on event day.
• Ferry Information: Runners coming from off island should plan to take the 8 am ferry from Horseshoe Bay.
• Relay Option: This run can be completed individually or as a relay in a team of three.

Aid Stations and Amenities

• Refreshments: There will be drinks, snacks and great prizes available at the finish line.
• Course Support: There are three aid stations on the course.
• Eco-Friendly: Please note that Handloggers encourages you to bring your own reusable cup for use at aid stations and finish line to reduce impact.

Community Support

The Handloggers Half Marathon raises funds in support of Bowen Island Trail Society, the Bowen Island Conservancy and other worthy causes which benefit members of the Bowen Island community.

Membership Requirement

All participants are required to hold a valid BC Athletics athlete membership. Participants who do not have a current BC Athletics membership are required to purchase a Day of Event Membership as part of event registration. The Day of Event Membership fee is $5.00.

Handloggers Half event has sold out early! Please contact us (email) by August 25 to be added to the waitlist for a transfer if you want to run or to let us know if you wish to transfer your registration to the waitlist if you are not planning to run. Thank you.
