The Brothers of Mercy Oktoberfest & Race to Remember

Event Overview

Oktoberfest & Race to Remember is a commemorative community event honoring the 25th anniversary of September 11th. Together, runners, walkers, families, friends, and neighbors will gather for an evening of remembrance, unity, and connection as we honor the lives impacted by 9/11 and reflect on the strength and resilience that continue to bring communities together.

• Oktoberfest Party: 5:30 PM
• 5K Run/Walk: 6:30 PM

Course Details

Participants will take on a certified 5K course through secure suburban streets and the scenic Tillman Wildlife Management Area before returning to campus for food, drinks, music, raffles, and post-race festivities.

Ceremony of Remembrance

A special Ceremony of Remembrance will be held as part of the evening, offering a meaningful tribute to those whose lives were lost, the heroes and first responders who served, and all who continue to carry the memory of September 11th forward. This moment of reflection is at the heart of the event and serves as a reminder of the unity, courage, and compassion that emerged in the wake of tragedy.

Post-Race Celebration

Following the ceremony and race, guests are invited to enjoy live music and dancing with The Polka Boyz, authentic German food including bratwurst, German potato salad, Bavarian pretzels, and more, plus international beer including premium beer donated by Hofbräuhaus. Basket raffles featuring great prizes and local favorites will also be available throughout the evening.

Registration & Pricing

• 5K Run/Walk: $30 through August 11
• 5K Run/Walk: $35 from August 12 through September 10
• Party Only: $25 through September 10
• Kids 10 and under: Free

5K registration includes admission to the post-race Oktoberfest party. The first 300 registrants will receive a commemorative T-shirt.
