Jacob's Well Classic

Race Overview

We are excited to welcome back the Jacob's Well Classic presented by Violet Crown and the Watkins Insurance Group!

Location

• Headquarters: VFW Post #6441 at 401 Jacob's Well Rd.
• Facilities: Pick up numbers, restroom access, and cool A/C.

Registration Details

• Online Registration: Open until Aug 10, fully refundable.
• Late Fee: $15 fee after Aug 13 at 5 pm.
• Onsite Registration: Closes 30 minutes before each wave.
• Discount for Juniors: $35 each for the road race and time trial.

USA Cycling License

No valid USA Cycling license, no race: Your license must match the category you seek to enter. Please address any issues before race day (USAC is closed on the weekends).

Volunteers

Road Course

The road race takes on a lollipop format starting at the VFW post. Racers have a neutral rollout to the finishing line on Mt. Sharp. They continue north and turn left onto Ledgerock Rd. for a 14.7 mi clockwise loop.

• 26.5 mi: 1 lap - Link.
• 41.5 mi: 2 laps - Link.
• 56 mi: 3 laps - Link.
• 85 mi: 5 laps - Link.

Feed Zone

The feed zone will be marked and located at approx. 6801 Mt. Sharp Rd. Feeding is from the right side only. Race officials will communicate about lap openings for the feed zone. Infractions may result in disqualification.

Time Trial Course

The TT takes place on the famed Fulton Ranch Road Climb. Start with a climb and finish while maintaining speed through the finish line.

Merckx Rules

The time trial will be held under “Merckx” rules - standard double diamond framed road bikes only. All bikes must have working brakes, and certain equipment such as TT bikes and bars are prohibited.

Littering Policy

Littering is strictly forbidden. Items may only be discarded in the feed zone or proper receptacles. Infractions may result in disqualification or fines.

Number Pick Up and Registration

Registration closes 30 minutes before each race. Arrive at least 45 minutes early. Registration desk opens at 6 am.

Early Packet Pickup

• Thursday: Aug 13 from 7:00-8:30 pm at Pinthouse South Lamar.
• Friday: Aug 14 from 6:00-8:00 pm at The Leaning Pear.
• Saturday: Aug 15 (time trial packets only) from 5:00-7:00 pm at Cypress Falls swimming Hole.

Parking Information

Please park in the VFW Post parking lot. VIP Parking is available at an additional charge. Failure to follow these parking instructions will result in disqualification and fines.

Restrooms and Changing Tents

Restrooms are located inside the main hall of the VFW. Public urination or uncovered changing will result in disqualification and fines.
